Sandbox eduroam Network Terms of Use

Eligible Users

eduroam is available to members of participating institutions and visiting users from other eduroam member institutions.

  • Sandbox staff with an institutional account
  • Visitors from eduroam member institutions (authenticated via home institution account)
Prohibited Activities

The following activities violate the eduroam terms of use and may result in suspension of access.

  • Distributing illegal content or infringing copyright
  • Hacking, fraud, spam, or any attacks against others
  • Excessive bandwidth consumption (P2P, running large-scale streaming servers, etc.)
  • Sharing or transferring account credentials to others
  • Any other activity in violation of applicable laws
Enforcement

Policy violations may result in the following actions.

  • Suspension of eduroam access
  • Notification to the user's home institution
  • Illegal activities will be reported to law enforcement authorities
Personal Data Processing

The following information is collected when using eduroam. Collected data is used solely for service provision and security incident response, and will not be shared with third parties except as required by law.

  • User ID (anonymised before roaming log forwarding)
  • Connection time and AP location
  • Device MAC address
  • Data is retained for one year from the date of connection
